MONTPELLIER, France and BENTONVILLE, Arkansas (March 15, 2016)
– Tageos, a leading RFID label manufacturer, has launched the EOS-220 R6, a new RFID label designed to address retailers’ small-item tagging needs. The new label incorporates next-generation RFID chips from Impinj, the Monza R6 and Monza R6-P, and allows retailers and their suppliers to enable complete item-level visibility using RFID technology, at the most competitive tag price.

The EOS-220 R6 embeds a new antenna of 45x25mm (1.77”x0.98”) especially designed to meet customer’s requirements for a small yet high performance RFID label. The tag measures 48x28mm (1.9”x1.1”) and is delivered as an adhesive label compatible with all standard available RFID thermal transfer printers, allowing customers to easily encode the tags and print variable data and product information.
The EOS-220 is 100% paper-based, manufactured using the Tageos patented inlay-less technology. By omitting the use of plastic based inlays, Tageos is able to dramatically reduce the price of the finished label compared to inlay-based tags manufactured in a traditional manner. Tageos’ customers can immediately gain the benefit of a very low-priced label, while at the same time meet their green initiatives by using a product with a very low carbon footprint.

“Offering a small RFID label with best-in-class performance was our ambition when we started developing the EOS-220, but we wanted to provide to our customers a very cost-effective tag,” said Matthieu Picon, CEO of Tageos. “Thanks to the high sensitivity of the Monza R6 chip, we came up with a very good product in terms of performance and reduced form-factor. Our EOS-220 is already being used by several clients in the retail industry.”

The EOS-220 R6 is available immediately with Impinj Monza R6 and R6-P chips. Tageos will exhibit the EOS-220 R6 RFID labels at the RFID Journal LIVE! 2016, the world’s largest event focused on RFID technology, in Orlando, May 3-5. Visit Tageos booth #712.
