Beontag opened the doors on its new state-of-the-art facility in Trotwood, OH on, the latest step for the company’s global growth this year.
The $80 million facility includes investment in innovative technology equipment and infrastructure, quadrupling Beontag’s output capacity in North America. According to company officials, the facility will be able to ship up to 3 billion RFID tags and up to 2.9 billion sq. ft. of graphic and label materials per year, equivalent to more than 50,000 football fields per year, for sectors including mass market labelling, tickets, industrial and smart tire tags by Q4 2025.
In an interview with RFIDJournal earlier this year, CEO Ricardo Lobo promoted the Dayton-area facility as integral part of the company’s growth.
U.S. Investment
“Ohio will do mass applications but also transportation, payment applications…we’re going to try to bring different applications,” explained Lobo. “Retail is now in a mature stage and it’s about to really kick off in other ways as companies gather data and plan how they are going to use that information effectively.”
Company and local elected officials noted with expansion and capital investment set to invigorate the local economy, the facility will be home to more than 220 employees who will work on a range of integrated solutions, notably expanding Beontag’s capabilities in North America.

The Ohio facility follows the opening new site in Finland that will be Beontag’s Global R&D Center of Excellence, a pilot factory developing product innovations for a range of digital tag solutions, including BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) tags, supporting the company’s work in a diverse range of industries.
