RFID Journal announced today that Avery Dennison will host an online, interactive workshop for label and packaging converters at the  RFID Journal Virtually LIVE! conference. The sessions will be free to these companies and will afford them the opportunity to learn how to convert labels into smart labels and add radio frequency identification to their product mix.

The event will be held on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, with the workshop taking place on Oct. 1 from 9:15 AM to 12 PM. It will feature the following sessions:

Every Breakthrough Needs a Beginning: How to Start with RFID
Products purchased in the future will have a digital identity that enables it to connect with the internet—and to everything else—and intelligent labels will be a core foundation of this connectivity. Join this session to gain an introduction on how to benefit from RFID-enabled intelligent labels, conjure possibilities and beckon tomorrow.
Speakers: Jasper Zonnenberg, Senior Director, Global RFID Inlay Sales and Market Development, Intelligent Labels, Avery Dennison; DJ Lee, Director, Channel Sales, Intelligent Labels, Avery Dennison

Every Part Plays Its Part: Selecting Inlays and Chips
Choosing the right inlay and microchip to power an RFID tag is among the most critical decisions that converters need to make for each customer. The right chip depends on the amount of memory, privacy features and other capabilities your customer might need. The appropriate inlay depends on the application needs, the read distance required and other factors. Learn how to sort through the options and select the appropriate transponder and inlay for your customer's needs.
Speakers: Elizabeth Sowle, Senior Manager, Global Applications Engineering, Avery Dennison; Hal Hikita, Head of Product Line Management, Intelligent Labels, Avery Dennison

Unlocking New Market Opportunities for Label Converters
RFID is profoundly transforming multiple industries and is opening up a whole realm of emerging segment opportunities for intelligent labels, such as pharmaceuticals, automotive and logistics. The presenters will provide insight into key case studies and explore trends for RFID growth for those segments, including capturing efficiency, transparency, and welcoming new levels of certainty.
Speakers: Patrick Eichstädt, Director of Industry Business for EMEA, Intelligent Labels, Avery Dennison; Jordi Baeta, Market Development Manager, Avery Dennison

Intelligent Labels: Enabling Transparency, Visibility and Sustainability Across the Entire Supply Chain
RFID drives efficiencies across the supply chain and makes it possible to see every product at every stage of its journey, from manufacturing, logistics and backroom to store front. The presenter will explore how digital ID technology solutions enable companies to verify an item's journey across the entire supply chain, from its source to its final destination, and to pinpoint any trouble spots along the way, minimizing risk and cost. In this session, you will also discover how digital ID technologies offer the possibility for true systemic change, improving efficiencies and reducing waste across the supply chain from source to consumer. We will also look at the sustainable manufacturing and material choices—all made possible with RFID.
Speaker: Lisa Pike, Director of Ecosystem Strategy and Development, Avery Dennison
