RFID Journal, the world's leading media and events company covering radio frequency identification (RFID), today announced that it is partnering with EPCglobal North America to provide special preconference seminars at RFID Journal LIVE! 2007. RFID Journal's fifth annual conference and exhibition is being held April 30 to May 2 at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Fla.

EPCglobal North America, recently formed from the merger of EPCglobal US and EPCglobal Canada, will offer a half-day seminar called EPC Essentials. The session is designed to educate companies interested in or required to deploy EPC technology, as well as systems integrators charged with designing and installing EPC systems, distributors and resellers of EPC products, and companies looking to enter the market for EPC hardware, software and services.

EPCglobal North America will also sponsor a special preconference seminar focused on the benefits of deploying EPC technology in the chemical industry. "The chemical sector has some special supply chain issues that are unique, including the need to identify hazardous materials and the need to secure these materials and reduce liabilities," says Mike Meranda, president of EPCglobal North America. "The seminar will help attendees understand how EPC technology can be deployed today to solve the industry's unique supply chain issues."

EPCglobal North America will also host an "invitation-only" meeting for subscribers who are EPCglobal solution providers. The meeting will focus on sharing the progress of EPC standards and the steps to take for further adoption in the community.

"RFID Journal has been committed to providing the highest quality information about radio frequency identification, and helping companies understand the benefits of EPC technology is a big part of that," says Mark Roberti, founder and editor of RFID Journal. "We are very pleased to be working with EPCglobal North America, the organization that sets the standards for the commercialization of RFID, to educate the market and move it closer to widespread adoption."
