The Auburn University RFID Lab developed the  “BOPIS Retailer Scorecard” for the purpose of testing the omnichannel capabilities of many retailers in the United States. The scorecard provides an in-depth analysis of a retailer’s ‘buy-online-pickup-in-store’ (BOPIS) proficiency and compares their performance to other retailers in the industry. The retailers were judged in very specific areas, including how well they communicated with the customer during the online ordering process, what types of confirmations they sent, and how fast and easy was it for the customer to actually pick up their order. In this session, Dr. Bill Hardgrave reviews the results of the Scorecard and most importantly, shares how well those retailers who have adopted RFID are performing, versus those who have not yet fully embraced the technology.
