Why Item-Level RFID Is the Key To BOPIS 2.0

Apparel and footwear retailers were struggling with buy online, pickup in store (BOPIS) before the Covid-19 crisis. Using bar code technology to take inventory results in item-level inventory accuracy of less than 70 percent. Now, with shoppers reluctant to go out due to the pandemic, retailers find themselves with a large increase in on-line orders and are struggling to fulfill them. However, retailers using item-level RFID are achieving inventory accuracies of better than 95 percent and are perfecting what we call BOPIS 2.0.  In this webinar, SML will share examples as to how item-level RFID is being used to revolutionize BOPIS and show how easy it can be to adopt this powerful technology.
