RFID Journal has announced that RFID Journal LIVE!, its annual conference and exhibition, was chosen as one of three finalists in the Best Conference and Exhibition category of by Folio magazine’s third annual FAME Awards. The award winners will be announced on March 19 in New York City.
Folio established FAME (Folio Awards for Magazine Events) as a way to recognize the best in magazine-powered events. The awards spotlight the fast-growing event initiatives in the magazine industry for all publications, including consumer, business-to-business, association and regional.
Among the other magazines nominated are The Atlantic, PC Magazine, Forbes, New York and O, The Oprah Magazine.
“I’m absolutely thrilled that RFID Journal LIVE! was chosen as a finalist in the first year we entered,” says Mark Roberti, founder and editor of RFID Journal. “It confirms what I’ve always known—that our events team, led by Kim Ray, and our editorial team apply their skills, dedication, creativity and hard work to deliver great content, a great experience and a tremendous amount of value for attendees’ money.”
RFID Journal LIVE! is the largest RFID conference in the world. More than 2,500 people attended the 2007 event, including most leading early adopters and pioneers of the technology. LIVE! has been recognized globally for providing a high-quality educational experience with a comprehensive program, objective speakers and editorial integrity.
Moreover, RFID Journal LIVE! attracts a wide range of sponsors and exhibitors showing the latest products and services. This year, the exhibit hall will feature numerous innovative new products designed to reduce the total cost of ownership of RFID enterprise systems. LIVE! 2008 will also feature numerous hands-on demonstrations and RFID-driven games that enable attendees to learn about the technology in a fun, interactive setting.
“I know the competition for this award is tough,” Roberti says. “We’re up against Oprah Winfrey’s publication and other competitors, but there is no doubt in my mind that we put on an event that serves attendees like no other business-to-business event in the world. That’s why we’ve grown so quickly, and that’s why we were named as a finalist.”
