RFID Journal has announced that its RFID Journal LIVE! 2019 conference and exhibition will include a special workshop, RFID for Airline Baggage Tracking, which will be run in cooperation with the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The workshop will be free for all airline executives who wish to attend.

RFID Journal LIVE!, now in its 16th year, is the world’s largest event focused on radio frequency identification and its many business applications. The conference will be held on Apr. 2-4 at Arizona’s Phoenix Convention Center. The baggage-tracking workshop, sponsored by RFID Global Solution, will take place on Apr. 2.

The workshop will feature Andrew Price, IATA’s head of global baggage operations. Price will explain the organization’s requirements for baggage tracking by 2020, the benefit to airlines and the practical steps airlines can take to start complying with the requirements. In addition, the workshop will feature a case study by Brandon Woodruff, a senior analyst at Delta Air Lines, the first major airline to track baggage worldwide (Delta Gives Green Light to RFID Baggage Tracking).

Additional sessions will help airlines learn how to evaluate RFID tags and readers, as well as how to deploy solutions that can enhance customer service and improve their bottom line. LIVE! 2019 will also feature five other workshops:

• RFID/IoT for Warehouse and Inventory Management
• Understanding the Value of RFID and the Future of Intelligent Labels
• Bluetooth Beacon Workshop
• RFID Journal University
• RFID Strategies and Best Practices

Additionally, the event will feature eight conference tracks, the co-located IEEE RFID 2019 event, the RFID Journal Awards, fast-track RFID training provided by RFID4U, and RFID Professional Institute certification. What’s more, the event will offer exhibits and demonstrations conducted by the industry’s leading technology firms. For more information, visit www.rfidjournalevents.com/live.
