FEIG Electronics Upgraded CPR44 NFC Reader: The CPR74

FEIG Electronics is proud to announce an upgrade to our popular CPR44 NFC reader: the CPR74.
Published: March 17, 2017

This next-generation FEIG product is a reader and encoder designed to bring state-of-the-art, secure, and speedy NFC performance to applications such as payments and ticketing. The CPR74 supports digital wallets like Apple Pay, Google Wallet and Android Pay, as well as contactless ticketing systems such as MIFARE. Like the CPR44, the CPR74 is perfect for use in public transport systems, vending machines, parking meters, laundry machines and just about any NFC payment or ticketing kiosk.

The new unit maintains backward compatibility with the CPR44 while incorporating many valuable new features. Mechanically, the component height of the CPR74 is lower (10mm vs. the CPR44’s 14mm) and the length is only 8mm longer (68mm vs. the CPR44’s 60mm). The width of the CPR74 (50mm), as well as the size, spacing and location of the mounting holes is exactly the same as the CPR44. Electrically, the two units are identical, and the connector style, orientation, pin-outs and API are identical as well. Additionally, the price of the CPR74 is targeted at the same level.

Two versions of the CPR74 are available. The CPR74-4SCUSB contains four secure access module (SAM) sockets, and the CPR74-CUSB comes without a SAM socket. The module is certifiable according to EMVCo Contactless Level 1 standards. Check out this detailed data sheet for more information.

Also, be sure to check out the new CPR74 at this year’s RFID Journal LIVE! event in Phoenix, AZ from May 9-11. FEIG Electronics will be in booth #412G, and we’re offering a discount code that attendees can use to save 15% on registration fees.
