CoreRFID, a company that specializes in the lifting and hoist sectors, has worked with Dublin-based CraneCare Lifting Services to help transfer its inspections from a paper-based system to an online solution. CraneCare is now using CoreRFID’s CheckedOK solution, which enables inspectors to use a tablet to input data onsite. This is then used to automatically update a secure hosted database, and the certification is immediately available for online viewing and download by CraneCare’s customers.
In addition to the inspection module, Cranecare has implemented the breakdown and repair facility of CheckedOK. This ensures the immediate recording of labor and parts used to carry out a repair, as well as the automatic generation of accurate invoices to make sure no revenue is lost.
CheckedOK has been tailored to CraneCare’s specific needs, the company reports, including the layout of reports and the sequence of the examinations. Established in 1985, CraneCare provides industrial lifting gear and services. It also delivers statutory testing, inspection and certification programs, along with bespoke engineered solutions.
“Each on-site inspection carried out used to be recorded on paper by inspectors and was then sent through to the office where data was re-entered manually onto a spreadsheet, which was labour intensive and error prone,” said Sean McCaffrey, CraneCare’s managing director, in a prepared statement. “This caused delays in retrieving data and issuing certificates to the customers. CheckedOK will give us greater accuracy, productivity and speed, helping us to enhance our reputation as an industry leader. We are hugely excited to see the benefits this new system will have for our company going forward.”
Munzi Ali, CoreRFID’s technical director, added in the statement, “CheckedOK delivers greater operational speed and accuracy, which gives users a competitive advantage. Irish industry is very keen adopter of information technology solutions and we’re pleased to continue our long and productive association through our work with CraneCare.”
