August 30, 2004—The Washington Redskins U.S. football team will be implementing a comprehensive RFID system as part of its “Smart Stadium of the Future” initiative at FedExField, the NFL’s largest stadium. Quest, an Australian company, was chosen for the project, which will ultimately use more than 600 terminals and RFID devices to offer Redskin fans loyalty cards and other shopping conveniences.
