September 1, 2004—Arguably the world's three most important software companies are all making progress with their RFID plans. IBM is piloting some of its offerings with Metro, while Oracle is working with international shipping company DHL. Microsoft has a project underway with Denmark's snack-food producer Kims, working to integrate RFID capabilities into its BizTalk and SQL Server.
