Best New Products of 2020: SpotSee ShockWatch and Fujitsu Textile Tag

RFID Journal is launching a series of webinars to highlight the Best New Product finalists of 2020. Each webinar will feature two products, chosen as award finalists, that will  which will be exhibited at RFID Journal LIVE! 2020, which takes place in Sept. 9-11, in Orlando, Fla. The first products featured is SpotSee’s ShockWatch, which combines the benefits of impact indication with the inventory tracking of RFID technology. This go/no-go device indicates if products have been mishandled during transit or in storage. It has the features of a standard passive UHF RFID tag, while also containing a visual indication and an electronic indication, communicating that damage may have occurred when the tag is read by an RFID reader.

The second product highlighted in this webinar is Fujitsu latest industrial strength flexible UHF RFID tags, which has a smaller form factor enabling it to be inserted into virtually any linen. This tag can help laundries to improve linen and garment processing with near 100 percent accurate reading. It can also help garment and linen owners will see improved asset tracking and reduced loss, while keeping their costs low by improving workflow and efficiency.

Tony has served as SpotSee president and CEO since May 2015. Tony brings more than 17 years of international experience in developing and executing innovative product, service and channel strategies. Most recently, he ran a $100 million business for Stock Building Supply Holdings, Inc., a $1.3 billion North American supplier of construction materials and services, as the company transitioned from a private equity ownership structure to being publicly traded on NASDAQ. Prior to Stock Building Supply, Tony held senior positions at Ingersoll Rand and Johns Manville, a Berkshire Hathaway Company.

 

Jan Van Niekerk 
VP of Engineering and Innovation, SpotSee

As Vice President of Engineering and Innovation since January 2018, Jan directs the engineering team at SpotSee. He brings over 20 years of experience in firmware, microcontrollers, analog, TCP/IP, RF/RFID and security. Jan has managed the development of electronic solutions for tier-1 OEMs at Microchip Technology, Maxim Integrated Products, Intelleflex Corporation and RF Ops.


Tyson Stuelpe 
VP of Global Sales, SpotSee

Tyson Stuelpe joined the SpotSee team in September 2015 as the Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing. He has held management and marketing positions of increasing responsibility with Ingersoll Rand, Newell Rubbermaid, Nestlé, and Black & Decker. Tyson brings significant experience in global product & channel management, acquisition integration, and supply chain management. He began his career as a strategic and operations consultant with Booz-Allen & Hamilton and Ernst & Young.


Dan Dalton 
Senior Director, RFID Solutions, Fujitsu

Dan Dalton is responsible for developing new products for broad range of technologies including RFID tags, tablet PC’s and ePaper technologies. He has also worked extensively to develop Physical Access Control (PAC) solutions utilizing Frontech’s award winning PalmSecure technology. He brings more than 30 years of experience in product development, engineering, marketing, product and program management.
