Bluebird Offers Two New RFID Readers

Published: July 16, 2026

Key Takeaway

  • Bluebird’s S10 handheld and FR901 fixed reader are positioned to improve RFID data capture speed, accuracy, and coverage across industries.
  • The launch points to continued demand for RFID hardware that supports automation, inventory control, and lower total cost of ownership.

Bluebird has added two new RFID readers to its portfolio by launching the S10 and the FR901. Both readers promise easy, cost-effective integration and the capability to transform inventory and asset management across multiple sectors.

The S10 is touted as an affordable UHF RFID handheld reader with a fast ROI. As an all-in-one solution, its total cost of ownership (TCO) is lower as it eliminates multiple disparate systems, simplifies device management and minimizes maintenance overheads.

The FR901 is a RFID fixed reader that replaces Bluebird’s FR900. Its sensitivity and connectivity enable organizations to shift from reactive tracking to proactive, data-driven automation.

How Bluebird’s New Offerings is Setting a New Benchmark

Benoit Charnallet, TSC Auto ID’s Product Manager for EMEA, noted inventory inaccuracy remains a perennial business problem, especially in manufacturing and retail where some 60% of records are said to be incorrect.

“RFID is a proven, indispensable tool for asset and inventory management as well as supply chain tracking and authentication,” said Charnallet. “Our S10 and FR901 set new benchmarks for capturing data quickly and accurately while maximizing operational and cost efficiencies.”

What are the Advantages for Bluebird’s S10, FR901

The S10’s E710 RFID chip offers performance capable of reading more than 1,300 tags per second from over 13 meters away. Weighing just 613.8g, its ergonomic design and anti-slip handle make it comfortable to carry and operate all day long. The rugged S10 is highly suited to inventory checking in warehousing, logistics, retail and manufacturing, as well as asset monitoring/auditing in healthcare, field service and construction/heavy equipment.

The new FR901 103dBM sensitivity ensures reliable and accurate tag reading even in extremely challenging RF conditions like densely stacked areas or on high-speed conveyors. The FR901’s innovative 8-antenna port design offers unmatched connectivity, enabling a single fixed reader unit to monitor expansive areas, cover multiple dock doors, or simultaneously manage a complex network of overhead and gate systems.

“With both our S10 and FR901, Bluebird has turned up the dial on performance, integration, usability and cost-efficiency for enterprise environments,” said Charnallet. “Expect to see both these devices significantly help organizations improve visibility, accuracy and efficiency across their operations.”
