Hewlett-Packard’s RFID activity in Korea

HP has been helping Korean manufacturers meet Wal-Mart's mandate. It will also release an RFID starter kit and open a research center in Seoul next month.

September 22, 2004—Hewlett-Packard has been working with South Korea’s LG Electronics and TriGem Computer to meet Wal-Mart’s aggressive RFID mandate, and it says both manufacturers are on track to comply by the January deadline. HP also expects to introduce an “RFID starter kit” in Korea, which will allow eager but inexperienced companies to move forward quickly with an RFID implementation. The company will open an RFID center at its Seoul headquarters, offering RFID solutions and consulting services to Korean companies.
