The Portuguese-language site, supported by HP's RFID Center of Excellence, will feature RFID news and case studies focused on the fast-growing Brazilian market.

RFID Journal announced today that it has launched a Portuguese-language version of its Web site for the Brazilian market. RFID Journal Brasil is supported by Hewlett-Packard's RFID Center of Excellence, the only research center in Brazil accredited by EPCglobal. The new site, which can be found at brasil.rfidjournal.com, will feature news and case studies about radio frequency identification technologies and applications.

"Brazil's economy is growing quickly, as is interest in RFID in that country, so we are extremely excited to be able to bring our high-quality RFID articles to that market," says Mark Roberti, RFID Journal's founder and editor. "We also plan to launch an event in Brazil next year, with the support of HP's RFID Center of Excellence."

Articles on the new Web site will include international stories of interest and relevance to readers in Brazil, as well as original content regarding Brazilian RFID deployments. The site's primary focus will be on the technology's use in manufacturing, retail and logistics, though applications in other industries will be covered as well.

"Interest in RFID technology is growing quickly," says Marcelo Pandini, Hewlett-Packard Brazil's senior manager of supply planning, fulfillment and country operations. "Together, RFID Journal and the Center of Excellence will be a powerful force to educate end users in Brazil about the benefits of RFID."
