Jan 10, 2011The Naval Inventory Control Point (NAVICP), which provides the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Marine Corps, and the Joint and Allied Forces with supply support for weapons, plans to issue a solicitation on an unrestricted basis for program management, engineering and technical services in support of the Department of Navy Automatic Identification Technology (AIT) Program Office, located primarily in Mechanicsburg, Pa.
According to a posting on the Navy's AIT Web site, the specific areas of support required are program office support and project management; enterprise architecture support; user information sharing; standards requirements determination and analysis; AIS integration and documentation; 1D and 2D bar code-focused implementation support; RFID-focused implementation support; unique identification number (UID) research and development; and business-case analysis support. The solicitation includes a base period of one year, with four one-year option periods.
The posting states: "An indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity [IDIQ] type contract with firm fixed price and cost-plus-fixed-fee ordering provisions is anticipated."
