Ask The ExpertsWhere Can I Find Laundry Tags Able to Withstand High Temperatures?
RFID Journal Staff asked 11 years ago

I am looking for RFID tags for a laundry application. The tags must be able to survive 230 degrees of heat and water. Are such tags available?

I presume you mean 230 degrees Fahrenheit (110 degrees Celsius). If so, then yes, there are tags that will withstand that temperature level. One is HID Global's LogiButton Tag, which can withstand a peak temperature of 120 degrees Celsius (248 degrees Fahrenheit). Idtronic also offers a laundry tag. Both of these tags operate at 13.56 MHz.

There are also ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) laundry tags on the market. GAO RFID offers the 860~960 MHz Gen 2 Laundry Tag 116413. William Frick and Co. produces the Silicone RFID Laundry Tag. And Fujitsu makes the WT-A522 RFID Laundry Tag. These should also work for your purpose.
