Prosegur Security, Azena Intro Robot Dog for Perimeter Control
Prosegur Security USA has announced the integration of its latest security technology, a robot dog named Yellow, into its private and professional security offerings for perimeter patrol. Yellow has several applications, the company reports. It can be deployed in situations that are too dangerous or difficult for human entry. It can also be used at events and, with the help of facial-recognition technology, identify “friend or foe,” thereby alerting security to potential threats. Yellow is powered by Prosegur’s GenzAI platform and by artificial intelligence partner Azena, enabling risk situations to be communicated via 5G technology to any Prosegur security operations center (SOC).
”
Prosegur understands the importance of intelligent, integrated security offerings, and Yellow is an innovative approach that connects and communicates with people and technologies to provide a comprehensive security solution,” said Mike Dunn, Prosegur’s chief technology officer, in a prepared statement. “By leveraging our GenzAI platform, state-of-the-art machine learning, communication, smart cameras and video analytics, Yellow can detect security threats, relay information to the SOC and onsite security to quickly respond and neutralize any danger.”
Yellow incorporates video analytics into its guarding tasks to detect and recognize suspicious elements, instantly alerting the SOC of any possible threats. The robot is designed to provide support and improve the efficiency of human patrol operations, to boost the safety and security measures of standalone manned guarding. Its sensors can detect fluctuations in temperature and gas, the company reports, which could indicate a gas leak or fire.
The robot can perform perimeter patrols, either independently or supervised by a security team member, allowing for real-time application at either a private business or public event, including concerts and athletic games. Its machine-learning capabilities enable it to adapt to any terrain, as well as avoid obstacles and create a map of its patrol area. Additionally, Yellow allows communication to the SOC or local security, while relaying its physical position without interruption. The robot’s capabilities are flexible and adaptable, according to Prosegur.
“Innovation is at the forefront of all we do at Azena, and now AI-enabled video analytics can be leveraged in more sectors than ever before to improve safety, security and operational efficiency,” added Hartmut Schaper, Azena’s CEO, in the prepared statement. “We are proud to be working in partnership with Prosegur Security to augment human response by employing sophisticated detection technology.”
Teal Announces Industry Podcast for IoT Community

Matterport Adds New Camera to Its Digital Twin Cloud Platform
Matterport has announced its Pro3 camera, along with updates to its digital twin cloud platform. The Pro3 utilizes 3D capture technology to digitize aspects of the physical world, while the digital twin platform fosters workgroup collaboration and productivity. Digital twins are visually immersive, interactive 3D models of buildings and spaces, and Forrester Research reports that 55 percent of global software technology companies are adopting this technology.
The Pro3 camera and cloud platform are designed to let customers create immersive digital twins. Customers in the factory, retail, hotel and airline industries can use digital twins to reduce project times by 30 percent and travel expenses by up to 50 percent, Matterport claims, via remote collaboration. The cloud-based software platform creates, publishes and manages digital twins of buildings and spaces of any size or shape, whether indoors or outdoors, and its latest capabilities allow customers to securely create immersive, collaborative environments for employees, customers and partners.
The camera features a 20-megapixel sensor and a 12-element lens, as well as a high-precision LiDAR sensor enabling the capture of millions of measurements in various conditions, from dim light to direct sunlight, up to a range of 100 meters (328 feet) at less than 20 seconds per sweep. In addition, Matterport’s Cortex AI engine has been upgraded to enable users to transform interior and exterior spaces, even in the presence of difficult foliage, lighting and reflective surfaces.
“One commercial real estate customer reported closing sales up to 85 percent faster,” Matterport notes. “Hospitality customers find bookings and occupancy rates increase 14 percent for properties with a digital twin. The benefits aren’t just for large enterprises—real estate agents using digital twins win up to 74 percent more listings, and 71 percent of residential buyers say they would buy a home sight unseen if it had a 3D digital tour.”
