The Near Field Communication (NFC) logo (called an N-Mark) is not required by law. It was created by the NFC Forum so that users of NFC technology could indicate to customers, consumers and others that NFC technology is being used. The NFC Forum has published guidelines for how to use the N-Mark, which you can read here.
