I have been following this company for a while, as it seems to be the answer for our small retail business, but I can't find any reviews about it. Is there a better, yet relatively inexpensive, alternative for reading RFID tags? And has any benchmarking been performed?
I have heard good things about U Grok It's reader from those who have tried it. What they like about it is that it turns an ordinary iPhone or Android smartphone into an RFID reader. Since almost everyone has a smartphone these days, it is easy to train personnel on RFID applications running the phone.
I have not seen any benchmarking of the U Grok It device and other smartphone readers or equivalents, but new ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) readers are being launched all the time. I would encourage you to attend RFID Journal LIVE! 2015, to be held in San Diego, Calif., on Apr. 15-17. You'll be able to see U Grok It's device in action, and compare it to some other readers currently on the market.
