In food manufacturing, we have to sign off on different parts of clean-downs. Is there a way to integrate RFID with SharePoint so each employee can sign off using RFID?

Lexi,

I am sure there is. You would likely first need to determine if the RFID tag should be read automatically or be presented by the employee to the reader, the way one would tap an RFID-enabled credit card at the point of sale. If you decided that the tag should be read automatically when an employee reached a specific location, then you would need to have passive UHF RFID readers at that location to capture each worker's ID automatically. If you wanted the employee to present an ID card to a reader, then you would use a passive HF RFID tag and reader.

Next, you would need to write a customized piece of software that would take the ID captured by the reader, look up the SharePoint log in that employee's credentials, log him or her in and execute the signoff. A good RFID systems integrator should be able to do this. You would certainly be able to find a company that could put this together for you at RFID Journal LIVE! 2020.
