RFID Journal LIVE! 2016 to Feature Three Co-located Events

By RFID Journal

The 14th annual conference and exhibition will host the Internet of Things Conference 2016, IEEE RFID 2016 and the Last Mile Consortia Forum.

RFID Journal announced today that three co-located events will be held in conjunction with this year's RFID Journal LIVE! conference and exhibition, an event focused on radio frequency identification (RFID) and its many business applications. This year, LIVE! will be held on May 3-5, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. The co-located events are the Internet of Things Conference 2016, IEEE RFID 2016 and the Last Mile Consortia (LMC) Forum.

The Internet of Things Conference will be held on May 4-5, and will feature leading end users of IoT technologies, as well as several leading providers of IoT solutions. In addition, there will be an Internet of Things pavilion in the LIVE! exhibit hall. The Internet of Things Conference will cover the technologies required to connect things to the Internet, including ZigBee radios, Wi-Fi, machine-to-machine software and cloud computing, as well as applications across many industries. Speakers will address both business-to-consumer and business-to-business applications.

The IEEE's annual conference on radio frequency identification is a major event for exchanging all RFID-related technical research. Its attendees include a mix of international practitioners and researchers from industry and academia, and span numerous disciplines. Hot topics this year will include multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO), ultra-wideband (UWB), power harvesting and biomedical applications. IEEE RFID 2016 is an opportunity to share timely research results in all areas of RFID technologies and their applications.

The Last Mile Consortia is a group of companies that provide comprehensive, multi-sourced solutions to the rail sector worldwide, with the goal of addressing the challenges of implementing and operating passenger and freight services. Members include RFID hardware manufacturer Invengo Technology Pte. Ltd., mobile satellite communications company Inmarsat and Cubic Corp., a provider of RFID tolling technology and other transportation-related products and services. The LMC Forum will feature a group of experts presenting on the main uses of RFID across rail operations, passenger support, freight security and intermodal visibility, as well as the impact on standards, regulations and cost-effective end-user models.

"RFID Journal LIVE! has become a global event that attracts users from all over the world," says Mark Roberti, RFID Journal's founder and editor. "We're pleased to be able to offer our attendees the added value of attending these co-located events."

LIVE! 2016 will also feature four industry-specific and four technical conference tracks, as well as six in-depth preconference seminars and workshops, four post-conference seminars, the RFID Journal Awards, fast-track training provided by RFID4U and RFID Professional Institute certification. In addition, the event will offer exhibits and demonstrations conducted by the industry's leading technology firms. More information is available at www.rfidjournalevents.com/live.
