Feb 10, 2013Meridian Health, which operates five New Jersey hospitals and a home-care service, has developed an RFID-enabled journal to improve medication management and offer greater independence and safety to patients with chronic diseases, when they are not in a health-care setting. The journal uses an active RFID tag that logs a patient's reported pain at home, as well as the effectiveness of any medication he or she takes to reduce discomfort.
