Where would one purchase a high-performance rollout mat antenna for Gen 2 RFID tags, like the mats now used at the finish lines of running races like the Boston Marathon?

I would recommend that you contact Times-7, which makes the SlimLine RTAS race-timing antenna system. The SlimLine RTAS is a complete, high-performance ground mat antenna system, designed specifically for race-timing and event-management applications.

Race Timing Systems, in Australia, is another option. The company's Ultra mats are made of anti-fatigue rubber and contain a passive ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) reader antenna. If you go to the company's website, click on "Contact Us" and choose "North and South America" from the drop-down menu, you will see contact information for the company's representative in the United States.

There are, of course, complete solutions available that come with mats, tags and software.
