Can you tell me which mass-merchandise companies that sell such goods as food and beverages have implemented the technology in their operations?

Mario,

Walmart started out using RFID across its entire spectrum of products. However, when other mass-merchandise retailers failed to follow suit, it switched its strategy to focus on apparel. To my knowledge, there are no retailers currently using RFID to track food, beverages and other consumer products. This is mainly because the price of the goods tends to be low, and placing a tag that costs 10 cents on each item would greatly reduce the profit margin. In addition, such goods are not being tagged by the manufacturers.
