Wow, that's a tough question to answer. There are hundreds—perhaps thousands—of different types of RFID tags on the market. There are dozens upon dozens of different passive ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) labels, each with its own antenna design. The designs are aimed at achieving the best performance, given different space requirements. There are also a wide variety of RFID tags encased in plastic, enabling them to be affixed to returnable or reusable assets. There are tags that come in bands that can be wrapped around a pipe, tags encased in metal so they can be welded to metal, tags designed to hang off of assets, tags designed to be embedded into assets, and so forth. I could go on and on. I suggest you attend our next RFID Journal LIVE! conference and exhibition, which will be held on May 3-5, 2016, in Orlando, Fla. You will see tags for every application you can image at the event.
