Is this even possible?

Keip,
This would not be possible, I’m afraid. A refrigerator is composed of metal, and radio waves bounce off metal. It would be feasible, however, to place a reader within a fridge and have it wired to a Wi-Fi transmitter on the outside, so that it could send data about what is inside via a network.
