The CLRC663 is an NXP Semiconductors reader chip. Therefore, to answer your question, I reached out to Victor Vega, the company’s director of RFID and Near Field Communication (NFC) solutions.
For proper power transfer, Victor says, you will need to undergo a tuning process. You can consult NXP’s “CLRC663, MFRC630, MFRC631, SLRC610 Antenna Design Guide” for that purpose.
For help with the tuning process, Victor advises, you may also want to use the company’s spreadsheet titled “Matching Calculations CLRC663, MFRC631, MFRC630, SLRC610.” You can find this document by searching NXP’s Web site, or clicking here.
