Do you have any information regarding price quotes from the major tag providers?

Providers of radio frequency identification solutions rarely quote prices because they rely on so many factors. The biggest one is volume, while another is a user's particular application. Are you looking for passive ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) transponders based on the EPC Gen 2 standard, for instance, or passive high-frequency (HF) tags based on the Near Field Communication (NFC) protocol? The tag's size and packaging also affect price.

What I would say is this: If you were to place hangtags on clothing items and wanted to put an RFID transponder in them, it would likely cost you an additional 10 to 15 cents per tag—perhaps a bit more if your volumes were low, or a little less if they were high. If you were to place a new label with an embedded RFID transponder on an item, you need to pay for the tag and the label, and that would likely cost you approximately 30 cents to 40 cents apiece.
