Can interrogators display a received signal strength indicator?

Most passive ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) readers have a way of displaying a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) and passing that information on to an application that can then use it to show a passive UHF tag's relative distance from the reader, based on the strength of the signal received from the tag. Active systems typically use time of arrival, angle of arrival and other means to determine an active tag's location.
