Are There Different Types of RFID Tags?
I would like to know specifically about different kinds of tags, not readers. Thanks.
There are many different types of RFID tags. These include passive low-frequency (LF) tags operating at 125 KHz, passive LF tags operating at 134 KHz, passive high-frequency (HF) tags based on the ISO 144423 air-interface protocol, HF tags based on the ISO 15693 air-interface protocol, passive ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) tags based on the ISO 18000-6C air-interface protocol (different versions might be optimized for different regions of the world and operate best at different frequencies), active RFID tags operating at 433 MHz, active RFID tags operating at 915 MHz, active RFID tags operating at 2.45 GHz, ultra-wideband (UWB) active tags, and a variety of active tags combining RFID with GPS, GPRS, infrared and other technologies. Passive tags have different antennas for different applications. So there are smaller tags designed for pill bottles and ampules, as well as larger tags designed to provide a longer read range on larger objects, such as containers or pallets.
