Can Active RFID Tags Be Read Inside of a Building or a Basement?

Would this interfere with GPS readings?

Yes, they can be read indoors. Active RFID tags are not based on GPS, so they would work inside your facility as long as you have installed readers in the area to detect tags and pinpoint their locations.

Thank you Mark for the reply. Along the line of questions, what if I have active RFID tags inside of a building and in basement, and I have a reader outside of the building would I be able to locate each RFID tags with GPS location of each tags ? The scenario is this, I have containers inside of a building sometimes they move into the basement, and I have tags on them to record their GPS location. Would a reader scanning from the outside around 100-200 meters away can accurately pick up each signal from the tags and give me the GPS location ?
