Can I Detect a Group of Tags at the Same Time?

Is this possible?

That would depend on what you mean by "group" and "at the same time." Let's take the latter first. If you're asking if you can read 20 tags within a read field simultaneously, then the answer would technically be "no," but would practically be "yes." Tags can never be read at the same time—a reader needs to talk to each one individually, and then the next. But 20 tags can be interrogated so quickly that it would appear to be happening simultaneously.

The reason I question your use of the word "group" is that I'm not sure whether you want to read 20 tags in a group individually, or to know if all tagged items in a group are there at the same time. There might be a use case for which you would need to know if all tags in a group were present. An RFID reader cannot tell you this, but software can. So you would associate tags with a group and then write a small program that would check each tag as it was read and tell you if the entire group was present.
