Can RFID Work With VB.NET Software?

Posted By RFID Journal, 07.09.2013

If so, what do I need to do to set this up?

I am admittedly not an IT guy, but from my years as an editor at Information Week, I do know that Visual Basic .NET (VB.NET)—an object-oriented computer-programming language derived from Visual Basic (VB), which was, in turn, derived from BASIC (Beginner's All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code)—enables the rapid development of graphical user interface (GUI) applications, as well as access to databases, Remote Data Objects and ActiveX Data Objects. VB.NET can be used to write applications that utilize data culled from radio frequency identification, but you would need to determine the format in which the readers you employ will supply the information. Passive ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) readers typically transmit data in XML format. I should point out that Microsoft has developed its BizTalk RFID offering as a platform for developing RFID applications.
