Sun Microsystems delays RFID test centre opening

July 16, 2004—The opening of Sun's RFID center in Scotland will be delayed, reportedly because the company has decided to modify the center's focus. The original plan had been to replicate the retail-centric version already open in Dallas. The newer, expanded vision includes applications better targeted to the demands of the European market, such as inventory tracking and management.
