June 16, 2004—Intellectual property licensing is a fundamental contributor to the profits of Intermec, the merchandise tracking company that last week filed suit against Matrics for patent infringement. The company hopes going to court will be avoided by Matrics' acknowledging and subsequently paying for the use of Intermec intellectual property.
