RFID Journal Announces Acquisition by Emerald Expositions

RFID Journal LIVE!, as well as the company's regional and industry events and news websites, will be strengthened by Emerald's resources.

RFID Journal, LLC, announced today that its assets, including its news website, the RFID Connect social-media site, RFID Journal LIVE! and other events have been acquired by Emerald Expositions, a leading business-to-business trade show and conference producer. The move makes RFID Journal part of a larger company with the resources to grow its business and the RFID industry.

Mark Roberti, RFID Journal's founder and CEO, as well as several members of his current team, have joined Emerald Expositions as a consequence of the acquisition. Roberti now reports to Joe Randall, Emerald's executive VP.

"Mark is an industry icon and has built a great business throughout the last 15 years," Randall said. "We are delighted that he and his team will be joining us, and we expect that together we can accelerate the growth of the RFID Journal LIVE! brand and deliver even more value and support to the global RFID community."

Roberti added, "RFID technology is increasingly used to track and identify objects, particularly in the automotive, aerospace, defense, pharmaceuticals, farming and retail markets. I am excited that with Emerald's scale and events expertise behind us, we will be able to expand the RFID Journal LIVE! events to meet the growing needs of the RFID industry worldwide."

RFID Journal recently announced that registration is now open for RFID Journal LIVE! 2017, to be held on May 9-11, 2017, at the Phoenix Convention Center, in Phoenix, Ariz (see Registration Now Open for LIVE! 2017). The event is expected to draw 3,000 attendees from more than 60 countries and will feature more than 100 educational sessions, including seminars, keynotes, workshops and master classes, together with an exposition floor showcasing approximately 200 exhibiting companies.
