RFID Journal LIVE! Dates Announced
RFID Journal, the world's RFID authority, has announced that its third annual executive conference will be held in Chicago from April 10 to 12, 2005.
Sep 21, 2004—RFID Journal, the world's leading source of RFID news and insights, has announced that RFID Journal LIVE! 2005, its third annual executive conference, will be held in Chicago, from April 10 to 12. The event, which was sold out in each of its first two years, is the most important gathering of end users, experts and technology providers in the world.
"Like our magazine and Web site, RFID Journal LIVE! helps end users separate fact from fiction and deploy RFID technology successfully," says Mark Roberti, founder and editor of RFID Journal. "As in previous years, we will have an unparalleled lineup of speakers who speak authoritatively about RFID—and not just the benefits, but the potential pitfalls."
Paul Saffo, a renowned futurist and a research director at the Institute for the Future, will deliver an opening keynote address about how RFID and sensor networks will impact the way companies do business, as well as the way we’ll live in the near future. Alan Estevez, deputy undersecretary for supply chain integration and the person leading the U.S. Department of Defense's RFID initiative, will speak about the progress the DOD is making in adopting the technology.
The theme of LIVE! '05 is "Real Users. Real Issues. Real Solutions." Early adopters will present case studies that not only cover the potential benefits of RFID but also the actual benefits and problems they are currently experiencing deploying RFID. Interactive sessions will address issues such as the cost of the technology, standards, data management and privacy.
LIVE! '05 will feature sessions focused on how to solve real-world problems, including tagging products made of metal and water; integrating RFID data and back-end systems; and solving interference problems. Technology exhibits from the leading RFID technology providers will also be featured.
"EPC and RFID are going to change the business landscape for a number of industries," says Joseph Tobolski, associate partner at Accenture. "RFID Journal LIVE! is not only a great place for up-to-date information and the latest technology, but offers a unique opportunity for sharing insights and views in this exciting market space."
Online registration for the event is now open at www.rfidjournallive.com, and RFID Journal has also begun accepting sponsorships for the event.
