The Case for RFID: A Pharmaceutical Manufacturer's Perspective
Drug manufacturer Cephalon explains why it is forging ahead with plans to implement RFID and an electronic drug pedigree solution for pharmaceutical products.
In the third quarter of 2008, Cephalon began affixing passive ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) RFID tags to cardboard shipping containers and serializing the Electronic Product Code (EPC) numbers on those tags that leave their third-party distribution center in Tennessee.
In this PowerPoint presentation with audio, recorded at RFID JOUrnal LIVE! 2009, Brian Brown, associate director of logistics and analytics at Cephalon, explains how and why the company is moving forward with its implementation plans.
