Webinar Report: The Future Demands Action Now

By RFID Journal

Last week's online event explained why embracing technological advancement in the supply chain is imperative.

For businesses to excel during periods of downturn and hardship, taking the proper steps and having the right mindset are vital. With that in mind, RFID Journal presented a webinar on Oct. 22 titled "The Future Demands Action NOW—Will You Miss This Opportunity for Growth?." The speakers for this online event were bestselling author Daniel Burrus, a strategic business consultant with Burrus Research; Gary Randall, American Barcode and RFID's VP of sales; and Paul Hilton, an industry strategist with Zebra Technologies.

An archived recording of the presentation is now available to view on demand, and a PDF of the slides used has been created as well. The presenters own the copyright to these materials, which are being offered for viewers' personal reference and should not be reused without permission. Please note that you must be a Registered or Premium Member of RFID Journal, as you will be prompted to enter your e-mail address and password before viewing the recording. (Registration is free.)

Burrus, the event's keynote speaker, is a leading futurist and an expert in global trends and disruptive innovation. As a strategic advisor to Fortune 500 company executives, he helps these businesses develop strategies based on his methodologies for capitalizing on technological innovations and their future impact. During the webinar, he explored why embracing advancements in the supply chain is imperative. With Randall and Hilton, Burrus highlighted the importance of technology in the utilities and manufacturing sectors, as well as the impact RFID can have on the supply chain.

At AB&R, Randall is responsible for defining solutions, products and partners to best meet its customers' requirements and manage its sales strategy. He has been a member of the team since 1997 as it has grown from a small, sales-driven company serving Arizona to an end-to-end solution provider with an international reach that helps customers manage assets, track inventory, mobilize workforces and secure workplaces.

Hilton has more than 15 years' experience working in supply chain and logistics, from running field-service operations out of college to managing field-solution deployments. Now an industry strategist at Zebra, he is focused on utilities, oil and gas, and other field-service sectors, and he helps companies in those industries accomplish their objectives and increase visibility into their operations.
