I am looking for a passive sensor that will function in harsh industrial environments in which temperatures may reach up to 1,300 degrees Fahrenheit. Do you know of any manufacturers that could help? We will be using electrical resistance or some other method to determine whether any barrier has been broken due to wear or deterioration.

Jim,

Technologies ROI offers passive RFID transponders designed to withstand up to 300 degrees Celsius (572 degrees Fahrenheit) and higher. I know that some of its tags can withstand temperatures as high as 1,200 degrees Celsius (2,192 degrees Fahrenheit) for short periods of time, so I would suggest you contact the company to find out if it has any tags that would meet your needs.
