I need the smallest tag available for tracking guns. It must be small enough to fit in a weapon's housing without disturbing moving parts, and it must also have a battery with a long life that can be recharged in some way. What would you recommend?

Arthur,
I would recommend you look at Rubee tags from Visible Assets. The tags are small and use electromagnetic energy, so they work well around metal. I don't know if the batteries can be recharged, but the company says the tags will last for five to 25 years.
