Would it be able to withstand the maximum magnetic intensity emitted by an MRI machine, and would any information be lost?

Shriram,

I have never seen RFID being used in this way, so I don't know how data would be transmitted to an RFID tag during an MRI procedure. A Swiss study found that RFID wristbands do not affect the functionality of MRI machines (see Swiss Study Finds RFID Tags Safe for MRI, CT Scans). Experts have also told me that it is unlikely data on an RFID tag would be affected by an MRI scan (see Can RFID Be Used With MRI Technology?). Extensive testing, however, has not been carried out to determine the long-term effects on tag memory or on the memory of different types of transponders.
