What is the best RFID tag to attach to a metal piece being machined in a computerized numeric control (CNC) machine? RFID will be used to tell the machine what to do, in terms of machining.
The best tag is the one that is cheapest and gets the job done. It would be impossible for me to tell you which company makes such a tag and which model it is, because there are many variables that must be considered, such as where the tag will be placed on the metal pieces being machined, where the reader will be placed and so forth. Companies such as HID Global, Omni-ID, William Frick & Co. and others make tags of different sizes, thickness and durability. I would suggest you contact these companies and seek their input regarding which tag they think will work best for your particular needs.
