It seems to be difficult to get any number of specific tags from NXP, Alien and Impinj in Europe. Is this normal or just due to the coronavirus?

Michael,
I reached out to several suppliers of passive UHF RFID tags and labels. No one wants to comment on the record, but there clearly is a shortage of chips, which is constraining the supply of tags and labels. It's not clear whether or not this is related to COVID-19. Some believe that chip producers simply underestimated the demand. The shortage is expected to be relatively short-lived, as chip producers are ramping up production now.
