Privacy has taken a real hit in the United States, with the Obama Administration using the National Security Agency (NSA) to listen to telephone conversations and read e-mails. The New York Times even reported this week that spy agencies are even getting data from "leaky" smartphone applications (see Spy Agencies Tap Data Streaming From Phone Apps).

Oh, wait, you meant privacy related to radio frequency identification. Well, there really haven't been any issues of late. Retailers using RFID have put signs up letting people know that they are using the technology, and tags are being placed on hangtags, labels or packaging that will then be thrown away. I really haven't seen any examples of RFID being utilized to infringe upon anyone's privacy. I hope the NSA isn't doing something with RFID that I don't know about.
