There is an article there about the system components (see RFID System Components and Costs) and one outlining common applications of the technology (see RFID Business Applications). But there are many different appellations, from tracking goods in your supply chain to engaging customers on social media. Our pages are full of innovative uses of the technology.
As for the advantages of RFID over other technologies, I spelled those out in an earlier blog post, which you might find useful (see What Are the Advantages of RFID?).
This is very powerful technology that can be used in myriad ways to deliver new benefits to customers. I hope you take advantage of it.
