Which technology would you recommend more?
It depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Ultra-wideband (UWB) systems, such as Zebra Technologies‘ Dart technology, are designed to provide precise location data. With UWB, you can locate a tagged object to within 10 centimeters (3.9 inches) or so. If you require that level of precision, then yes, UWB is better. However, if you don’t require that level of precision—if you just need to know if a piece of medical equipment is within a specific room, for example—then Wi-Fi might be more cost-effective. That’s because hospitals typically already have a Wi-Fi network, so all they need to do is add additional access points in order to be able to collect the information they need.
