Has RFID Journal ever published any articles about this use of the technology?

One of the first industrial uses of RFID was in laundries, and we have written a number of articles about industrial laundries utilizing the technology.

In 2012, for example, we wrote about Village Uniform and Linen, which installed an RFID solution to manage the sorting of piles and bags full of uniforms, mats and linens. The resulting solution, developed with assistance from Swiss RFID firm Datamars, has helped Village Uniform to grow its industrial business. The laundry company is now selling the solution it developed (see Laundry Company Commercializes Its RFID Sortation System).

And more recently, we published an article describing tags and other RFID components designed specifically for industrial laundries (see Coming Clean About RFID Laundry Systems). You can read about other use cases by clicking here.
